A Swimmer's Guide to Happiness:  swim as well as you can, as often as you can, and in as many places as you can.

Learn to Swim

Learning how to swim covers the spectrum from water safety to knowing the four competitive strokes, and their accompanying starts and turns.

Knowing how to side breathe within the freestyle stroke is the most agreed upon marker of someone who "knows how to swim". Being able to complete multiple laps and/or cover a fair amount of distance (500 plus yards) while in constant motion is another way to designate a swimmer.

Dives, cannonballs, and underwater tricks are all part of the repertoire of someone who loves being in the water.

For the Love of Swimming offers instruction that creatively combines the acquisition of skills with the experience of moving through the water confidently, fluidly, powerfully, and gracefully.
